Opportunities For Giving/Involvement

Everyone deserves a chance to belong.  The Y is accessible to all people regardless of their ability to pay, and financial assistance is offered to children and families who cannot afford membership or program fees.

Contributions to the Y, which are tax-deductible, help us ensure that no one is turned away due to the inability to pay, and that our programs continue to meet the critical needs in your community.  Through your financial contributions and volunteer efforts, your support translates into:

·       The caring attention a young person needs to grow up healthy and confident.

·       Support for families so they can be successful.

·       Healthier lives for people of all ages, backgrounds and incomes.

·       A safer, more caring community that’s a great place to live and work.

In 2011, our Y had a positive impact on over 350 individuals and families (a 72% increase over 2010) by providing them with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive as a result of our financial assistance program.  More than $130,000 was used for financial assistance scholarships (a 24% increase over 2010), and hundreds more people benefited from the $125,000 that was used to subsidize vital Y programs within our community such as Active Older Adults (A.O.A.) and Special Kids Organized Recreation (S.K.O.R.) that could not exist without additional funds.

You may not realize that the Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  Locally, the Hamilton Area YMCA is having an impact on the community with programs such as Summer Day Camp, Preschool, Before and After School Care, Health and Fitness, and Youth Sports.  But we can’t do it without you!
